When I was a kid, there are two things I wanted badly and never got… A real dog and a Kenner AT-AT Walker.
Quand Patrick Boivin était gamin, il révait de 2 chose : avoir un vrai chien et un AT-AT. Aujourd’hui, en plus d’être un papa avec une fille qui remplace Iron Man, il nous montre ce qu’un AT-AT ferait si c’était un animal de compagnie. La réalisation est superbe et aussi amusante qu’amusée. Rafraîchissant !

Without You Baby There Ain’t No Us, is a project from Swiss Artists Admir Jahic and Comenius Roethlisberger (The Invisible Heroes). The most recent work in this project, spoke of crisis by referring to passion and absurd commitment to a joyous idea; the same sort of brilliant display that unfortunately caused the Star Wars Kid some pain (where as in exchange he made millions of people smile.) For this installation, Jahic and Roethlisberger recreated 604 rendered frames from this YouTube phenomenon, all of which will be on display at the Scope Art Fair in Basel as of Monday June 8th, 2009.

« I knew it was going to be wild when I signed on, » says Carolyn Murphy, who stars in Ryan McGinley’s exclusive short film Entrance Romance (it felt like a kiss).
« Next thing I know, my manager is telling me that they’re going to break glass on my head and my leading man’s a dog. I’m like, ‘That’s it?’ I was so sure I’d have to take my clothes off, » she says, laughing.
Shot with a Phantom camera (capable of capturing video at over 1000 frames per second), Entrance Romance sees the all-American beauty (since 2002 the face of Estée Lauder) cheerfully turning a can of WD-40 into a flame thrower, passionately kissing a dog and smiling serenely as a bowl of goldfish smashes over her head.
Murphy notes: « I think we did the fishbowl scene in just one take. As soon as it cracked against my head, everyone dove down and scrambled to pick up the goldfish. None were hurt in the making of this film! »
The film’s collision of innocence and thrill should be familiar to fans of the photographer’s previous work—carefree, hazy shots of teenagers jumping off cliffs, skinny dipping or cavorting in remote locations (and earlier this year, McGinley debuted a film for Pringle of Scotland featuring Tilda Swinton in a forest and caves)—but here the action is exquisitely drawn out, with the camera registering the most minute changes in Murphy’s expression.
Despite the relentless focus, her face remains unflinchingly calm, emphasized by soft, beachy makeup, luminous golden lighting, and a meditative, chant-led soundtrack, all of which provide an intriguing contrast to the film’s explosions of glass shards.
« We thought about going with a really rough punk rock look, » makeup artist James Kaliardos says. « But Ryan loved the idea of showing this iconic, fresh-faced Californian girl in an entirely new context, so I did fresh, 70s « no-makeup » makeup. We wanted her to look happy and in control, but still vulnerable. » So she does—and her bliss is infectious.

Check out the 24-year-old Lee’s audition tape above, which includes kung fu demonstrations that unnerve the poor victim sent on camera to let him show off his moves. Lee does it all in a suit and tie, not breaking a sweat, and somehow managing to remain dashing and debonair the whole time!

Girls suck at video games is a movie made in a famous animation school by Stephanie Mercier. It is only 2 minutes long and really pleasing to watch. It uses the video game reference (a very manly reference) to show you how a woman can change it into something awful. Of course, it is only for fun.

A tutorial video about the rules of Three Sided Football.
Three Sided Football is a game invented by Asger Jorn, that he presents in the book « The Application of the Triolectical Method in General Situology », edited in Århus in 1964 by the Scandinavian Institute for Comparative Vandalism.
Pied la biche organized a competition of Three Sided Football to put in application the ideas of Asger, at Vénissieux (close to Lyon, France) in october 2009 during the program Veduta (Bienniale of contemporary art of Lyon).
A movie by Nacer Merzoughi.
