I don’t care about football (soccer) and therefore I don’t care about the vuzuzela. But I couldn’t avoid this wonderful funny event.

Banksy is a very prolific artist. His identity is still unknown but some might suggest he is not alone, that banksy might be a group of street artist. Who knows for sure ? What we know is that his street arts are now internationally known. He was in the USA for the projection of his movie Exit through the Gift Shop and while he was there, he went outside with his paint. Here are some of his works I had not published yet.

Richard Renaldi s’est amusé à demander à de parfaits inconnus, croisés dans la rue, de poser pour lui et de se toucher. Selon les personnalités des gens photographiés, les attitudes sont maladroites, décontractées, accueillantes, amusées… Les expressions, les poses sont sublimes. J’aime ces photos où on peut rester longuement à les observer. On tente de comprendre ce qui se passe dans la tête des modèles. On scrute le moindre détail qui confirmera nos impressions. Une idée simple qui fait mouche dès le premier coup d’œil.
Touching Strangers is a an ongoing photographic project stemming from my interest in the dynamics of group portraiture. The premise of this work is simple; I meet two or more people on the street who are strangers to each other, and to me. I ask them if they will pose for a photograph together with the stipulation that they must touch each other in some manner. Just as often, I let their tentative physical exploration play out before my camera with no interference.
I undertook Touching Strangers as a means of bringing new complexity to the art of portrait-making. My objective was to introduce an unpredictable variable in a very traditional photographic formula; to create a spontaneous and fleeting relationship between complete strangers in front of my 8×10 view camera.

Les panneaux dans les rues sont nombreux. Je n’ai appris à les reconnaitre que très tard, au moment où j’ai passé mon permis de conduire. Parfois, (mais c’est rare), je peux croiser un panneau étrange ou détourné. Celui que l’on rencontre le plus fréquemment est le panneau STOP auquel une suite comme « la guerre » ou « la coke » est ajoutée.
C’est à ce moment là que le quotidien glisse vers l’inconnu, il prend un côté surnaturel. La réalité devient presque une fiction. Tout ça, à cause d’un simple détournement. Parfois aussi c’est la réalité qui rejoint la fiction et de vrais panneaux de signalisation viennent surprendre la monotonie grise, nous rappelant que rien n’est figé, même pas la routine.
If only the Universe could be rebooted as simply as on the picture above. I’m sure each one of us would be pushing the button at least once in one’s life. But the button itself would be pushed again and again by stangers. And we would have to live our life again and again. Unless we can reboot the button itslef…

L’histoire, ça peut rapidement devenir pénible. Du coup, pour se donner du courage, certains historiens picolent, et je les comprends. Ils se détendent et commencent à parler de leur sujet de prédilection avec passion ou agacement. Cette nouvelle manière de raconter l’Histoire avec un grand H, s’appelle « Drunk History », que je pourrais traduire par « Histoire Ivre ». Inutile de dire que j’adore le concept signé Derek Waters. Today, everyone carry around a camera. Everyone can take a picture of something amazing, funny, disturbing or weird. Of course, these things can happen everywhere. But, we must admit, the metro is certainly the best place in the world to take that kind of pictures. Here are some of the best shot I’ve seen on the web. I hope you enjoy them.

Le voyageur devient alors spectateur de la vie des autres. Une autre bonne raison de prendre les transports en commun.
Gillian Brown est un artiste étonnant. La photo que vous voyez ci-dessus est une illusion. Et ce n’est pas le type d’illusion que vous imaginez. Il faut penser en perspective, en profondeur, tordre le monde visible, le déformer littéralement pour que, selon votre point de vue, l’ensemble s’aligne. Vous ne comprenez rien à ce que vous venez de lire… Comme une photo vaut 1000 mots, regardez les images ci-dessous, elles devraient vous parler et vous finirez par comprendre.
Ainsi, si on se décale légèrement, on commence à comprendre que la réalité est parfois trompeuse.

These last days, while I was looking for pictures, I just kept bumping into animated Gif images. I found so many, I decided to make a full article on my latest discovery. They were supposed to go in the No Comment part of the site, but here they are in their full glory. Take time to look at each of them as they are all really weird of funny.
Quand je cherche des images pour ma partie No Comment, je tombe très souvent sur des Gif animés. Ces derniers temps, j’en ai trouvé plein qui aurait mérité une place dans la partie No Comment, mais je n’avais pas envie de polluer cette rubrique. A force de tomber sur ces photos incompréhensibles hors contexte, je me suis dit que j’allais les garder dans un coin de mon ordinateur et vous les servir un jour en Zoom. Ce jour est enfin arrivé et je suis certain que vous êtes soulagé. Vous allez voir, il n’y a pas de quoi être déçu.
Je commence avec des danseuses armées de fusils. Ne me demandez pas pourquoi elles ont un fusil, je n’en sais rien. Je continue avec une femme fatale qui a chassé des ours en peluche géant, un pokémon qui joue à Guitar Hero sur une Wii pendant que des filles font des trucs dans son dos, et j’enchaîne avec un vieux qui fume une cigarette en caressant un phoque pendant qu’il regarde un homme de dos face à un jeu de fléchettes. Je sais… Je viens de semer le doute dans votre esprit. Vous n’allez pas vous coucher plus intelligent mais vous allez vous coucher avec plusieurs questions en tête. Inutile de rester éveiller, vous ne trouverez pas de réponses.
