Comme promis, voici le clip dingue d’OK Go diffusé pendant la finale du Superbowl hier soir. . Cette fois, c’est au volant d’une Chevrolet qu’ils jouent de 1.157 instruments de musique fabriqués pour l’occasion. Le résultat est franchement réjouissant. On se surprend à pousser des oh et des ah à plusieurs moments. Mon passage préféré étant avec les guitares. Ce groupe réussit à innover à chaque nouveau clip. Si ce que vous voyez en vidéo ci-dessus n’est pas le pire clip du monde, il est certainement dans le top 5. J’ai rarement vu un telle mise en scène. Je vous laisse juger. Et vous n’êtes pas obligé de regarder jusqu’à la fin. Mais la musique commence vraiment à 1:30. Vous pouvez regarder à partir de là. C’est vendredi, on se détend. Voici un clip qui va vous décrocher la mâchoire. Il s’agit d’un morceau de violoncelle qui s’appelle Julie-O. Il a été composé par Mark Summer et interprété par de nombreux musiciens. Mais cette fois-ci, il y a un truc en plus. Je suis un fan inconditionnel de Cyriak et de ses montages surréalistes. Il crée des boucles d’images et de sons, il les enrichit, les module et les répète comme dans un râga. Ses démultiplications et le rythme donnent une impression étrange et on évolue entre l’amusement et le dégoût. Bref, j’adore. Cyriak est un grand du montage vidéo. Rebecca Black chante les vendredis comme personne. C’est insupportable à écouter. Et surtout son titre Friday fait partie des territoires sur lesquels personne ne doit s’aventurer sérieusement. Chanter le Vendredi sérieusement et se l’approprier pour faire de l’argent, c’est un peu comme si on chantait le Chamedi de la même manière. C’est interdit et ça ne se fait pas sans représailles. Ce clip est simplement hallucinant. Il a été réalisé par Cyriak le magicien. Un petit génie halluciné du montage vidéo psychédélique. Il joue sur les apparitions, les disparitions, les multiplications et plein d’autres choses en -on. J’adore. Pour la musique, même si ce n’est pas mon genre, je reconnais avoir pris du plaisir à l’écouter.

Here is the last music video by OK GO. The song name is « Last Leaf ». It is comprised entirely of photographs…15 still shots for every second of video. Oh yes, and toast. Lots and lots of toast. 2.430 toast to be precise.
Vous vous souvenez d’OK Go ? Oui, c’est le groupe qui, à chaque clip, essaie d’étonner, d’innover et d’amuser. Le clip de leur chanson This Too Shall Pass est certainement le plus connu qu’ils aient fait. C’était un clip complètement fou avec la machine de Rube Goldberg la plus hallucinante de l’histoire.
Ensuite, je vous avais montré le clip d‘End Love où ils exploitent plusieurs effets spéciaux low-tech. Pour finir, j’avais présenté le morceau White Knuckles, où on peut voir un tas de chiens savants danser avec eux.
Cette fois, les héros sont des toast. Oui du pain de mie grillé de manière à créer un dessin-animé savoureux et croustillant. C’est beau et bon. Un clip appétissant, mais un brin moins étonnant. Par contre, le morceau est vraiment bien.

During the Cold War at the beginning of the Space Age, the Soviet Union was rumored to have two space programs – one a public program, the other a secret ‘black’ one, in which dangerous and sometimes downright suicidal missions were attempted. Cosmonauts would be shot into orbit without the means or resources to get them home, stranded in an expanding orbit around earth, slowly pulling away, frozen in space for eternity.
I wanted to create a kind of formal and slightly nostalgic vibe. At the same time, I wanted it to feel untethered to an exact era — not specifically in the past. I shot in Portland Oregon and a little in Romania and I was really inspired by Russian cinema and Communist propaganda posters. It was an ambitious idea and I’m really stoked that Deschutes Brewery and North were able to help support the production of this video for Wolf Parade’s great song, Yulia. – Scott Coffey
