Dodson was interviewed on July 28, 2010, by NBC affiliate WAFF-48 News after the alleged attempted rape of his sister by an intruder in her bedroom, in the « projects » of Lincoln Park. Video is below, go directly to 1′ to see Antoine in action :

Then, this video started to get viral. And after watching it, you can easyly understand why : Antoine Dodson knows how to speak real and strong with rythm and looking directly in the eye of the camera.

Then, the Gregory Brothers saw this video. And they decided to make a song using a software (this software is called autotune that translate the words into a tune). Evan Gregory then proceeds to play a heartfelt cover of the resulting song. Here it is, it’s called the « Bed Intruder Song » :

In September 2010, the Gregory Brothers reported that they had sold over 100,000 copies of The Bed Intruder Song on iTunes.

And here the mème started to live a life of its own.

We now have an Antoine Dodson (Dogson ?)

My HP Scanjet 5P performs Ode to Joy

If you set the Scanjet to SCSI ID 0, then hold down the green ‘scan’ button on the front whilst powering on the scanner, a stepper motor test routine will activiate. The test moves the motor back and forth to create the « notes » of the song.

Mario Theme played on Stepper Motors with an Arduino

The sound you’re hearing is coming entirely from the motors. The song information is taken from a MIDI file that I composed. An Arduino provides the necessary commands to spin the motors at the required frequencies.

Milling machine playing MacGyver theme

Visa made a program that converts notes from a .txt file into G-code, which makes the milling machine play the music.
